NO BUSY SIGNALS IN HEAVEN

“Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if He call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.” 1 Samuel 3:9 KJV

We are told repeatedly in God’s Word to call upon His name and that He will answer. Likewise, we each must be willing to answer His calling upon our life.

It is a great comfort to know that God is always there, waiting to commune with us. He is never too busy to have time to spend with us. He is available to listen when we need to talk to Him, submit a prayer, cry out to Him, or shout out praise.  Any time, we run to the throne, He is there for us, to lift us up, heal our wounds, carry us, correct us, lead us, guide us, forgive us, cleanse us, save us, and to love us.

“And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah”  29:13 KJV

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were always available when God called on us? We often try to “fit” Him in around our over booked and busy lives. We have a hard time listening to His soft, still voice over the demands of daily life screaming at us.

There is an eternity’s worth of difference between living our life for God and living a “good life.” If we live our life for Christ, we know that all in this earthly life is pure vanity and that there is only one real purpose for which we live. If we live a “good life,” we say all the right things and present all the right behaviors to the world, but the intent of our heart is rooted in vanity and not in living our life to the glory of God.  The book of Ecclesiastes speaks of the futility of vanity.

Wouldn’t it be great if when God called us to care for the needy, comfort the poor, heal the sick, lift up the fallen, feed the hungry, love our neighbor, and to forgive our enemy that we would respond, “Speak , LORD; for thy servant heareth”

Our sole purpose in this life is to save souls by the telling of Christ to the lost of the world, so , that they may accept Him and be saved by His redeeming power.  This mission is not just to be undertaken by the preachers and teachers but everyone under the sun. Some will have full-time ministries and others will share the gospel in their everyday life. To live for Christ and proclaim His name is not an appointment it is an anointment. It is not something we do on a given day and at a given time but it is instead a way of life. Also, it does not mean we go through our life beating the lost about the head with our Bibles. It is where we live our life in such a way as to exemplify Christ so that others see Christ in us. It is sharing the gospel with love and not in human judgement. It is not screaming scripture from the street corner, unless that is what God leads you to do, it is about speaking a word in due season. It is not about trapping the lost and force feeding them God’s Word but rather about inviting them to come to Christ willingly and God creating in them a hunger and thirst for His Word that only He can satisfy.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24 AKJV

“When God calls on you, He should never get a busy signal!”

We can get as close to God as we sincerely desire to get. We should seek God before we rush out to meet our daily demands. And when He seeks us – we should be eager to be found by Him.

Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

James 4:8 KJV

If you have ever thought in your heart, “I can’t waste all my time worshiping and serving God, I do have a life to live.”  Remember that all we do, without God, is waste our time living a life chasing smoke and mirrors. To have life that is not pure vanity, we must first live for Christ and all other things, Matt. 3:28-33,  will He give us.

1 Chronicles 22:16 (1 Chronicals 22:1-26 in context) says – “Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.”

It is written in 2 Corinthians 9:8-9 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:(As it is written, HE HATH DISPERSED ABROAD; HE HATH GIVEN TO THE POOR: HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS REMAINETH FOR EVER.

Just as David had made much of the preparations for Solomon to build the house of God, God has also prepared and equipped us to take the gospel to the lost, so, that through Christ they will be saved.

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
