Do you know any “good” people? Are they Christian?

We ALL like to think we are “good” people. Good people don’t receive salvation, eternal life, and go to heaven…. people who believe in and accept Christ Jesus as their Lord and Saviour do.

“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested , that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
1 John 3:8 AKJV

I read this verse and my heart cringes. “of the devil.” I do not want to be of the devil. If you sin you are of the devil. I cannot wrap my thinking around the fact that anyone can read and understand the meaning in this verse and not cry out to God, asking that He reveal and remove any sin in their life.

We are told that we cannot serve two masters and that we will love the one and hate the other.

Do you seek God, believe in and accept Christ Jesus, sharing the gospel to the lost?
Or
Do you live your life as pleases you, embracing all the sin of the world, and, by doing so, serving the devil ?

Answer these questions and who you Love and who you hate will be known.

We must all repent, turn to God, and turn away from sin. We must all love God and hate the sin. We must all accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Or we will remain in sin and be of the devil.

When we come to know Christ Jesus we are reborn in Spirit and become a new creature in Christ.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 AKJV

Notice “are become” – present future tense. When we accept Christ we ARE new creatures in Christ and we will BECOME more Christ like through God’s perfecting of us.

No matter how self sufficient we like to imagine we are, we cannot power through and change ourselves.

JESUS IS THE DOOR. JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY.
Choose God.

A Christian is a person who is born again by the Spirit of God, trusting by faith, and seeking to live as Jesus commands and seeks to follow Him in obedience.

There is no other way to the Father, no other way to be a Christian, than through personal faith in the Son of God.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. John 14:6 AKJV

God already knows you, all about you, and He is waiting for you to know Him.

Today, right now, can be the moment you humble your spirit, bend your knees, and in all sincerity of heart ask forgiveness of your sins and invite Jesus into your heart. Pray for the strength to completely turn from your sin, wisdom to know His will, and revelation to understand His Word.

Do this and today truly will be the best day and the first day of the rest of your life.
