FIGHTING FRUSTRATION AND IMPATIENCE WITH PRAYER
FIGHTING FRUSTRATION AND IMPATIENCE WITH PRAYER
Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.
Psalm 37:5 AKJV
Frustration can bring on impatience and send the strong to their knees.
When we feel frustrated we can mutate into unrecognizable personalities. We can say and do things, in reaction to this intense feeling, that we would never say or do under less pressure.
Frustration is often coupled with impatience. We must recognize that frustration and impatience are side effects of feeling a lack of control over our situation. It is our humanistic need to be in control that triggers this negative emotional rollercoaster.
If this is you…….STOP! Take a deep breath and, if possible, remove yourself from the immediate problem. Find a private place to pray and ask God to show you what to do.
Whether we are in the middle of a long stressful process or we have to make an immediate decision, God will answer.
Daniel, in Daniel 2, faced with life and death circumstance, prayed for an answer to King Nebuchadnezzar’s inquiry. It took all night but Daniel received the answer in a vision from God.
Daniel, in Daniel 4, was summoned to answer another inquiry of the same king and it took an hour before God revealed the answer to him.
God is faithful to answer. Our answer may take less or more time than Daniel’s did to become clear but it will always be in the right time – the Lord’s time.
It is a choice, we can hold relentlessly to the chaos in an attempt to bend it to our will or make the decision to pray about our situation or circumstances, and to give it to God. We can choose to believe that He will answer our prayer and that He will work things out in a way that is His will for our life.
You may think that this all sounds very easy to do or that it would be impossible to do. It is very possible, if you choose to release your circumstances, fear, and doubt to God and you choose to place your faith in God.
We may have to make the decision to trust in Him every step of the way to our delivery and that is okay – He hears us and the answer will come.
GOD LOVES YOU !!!
