TEN COMMANDMENTS – STILL APPLICABLE
It is amazing how much more peaceful, blessed, and prosperous life is when we follow God’s laws of the Ten Commandments.
24. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25. But after the faith [JESUS] is come we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:24-26 AKJV
It is true, that if we are Christian and saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, that we are living under grace and not under the law. However; the Commandments are holy, they are very much alive and were not abolished. As long as there are sinners, as long as sin exists there will be a purpose for the law.
The Commandments are the laws which God uses to bring conviction into the heart of the sinner, so that the sinner’s heart is prepared to repent, seek forgiveness, and accept Christ Jesus as their LORD and Saviour.
God will convict the hearts of those who are saved, by the blood of Jesus Christ, making them aware of their backsliding into sin, so that they can repent, seek forgiveness, and be restored unto Christ. The Commandments are the laws by which the backslider [aka sinner] will become aware, identify, and know exactly how they have sin against God.
Perhaps this will clarify the nuance of difference. It is the difference between spiritual life and spiritual death. It is a matter of the heart.
The Sinner (one who sins, one that hates God) is held to and judged by the Commandments because they are the law.
The Save (one who is forgiven, lives under grace, is a child of God, and loves God) is held to the Commandments because they love God and the Commandments are written up on their heart to do.
Check your heart condition regularly; measure your life choices and your hearts desire’s by God’s Commandments, repent and seek forgiveness for all sins, and pray unceasingly.
GOD LOVES YOU !!!
