GIVE SOMETHING OF YOURSELF THAT COSTS YOU
Give something of yourself that costs you.
It is easy to say I want to help or I want to make a difference. But it is also easy to let someone else handle it when our number is up and it’s our turn.
Many wonderful people step up and give selflessly durning times of disaster and devastation. But what about the everyday?
What would happen if we all just did small things for those in our everyday life? What impact might that have on our world as a whole?
Sure there are some who take advantage of the good in others but that is generally just an excuse for the doer not to do anything for anyone.
“I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak , and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said , It is more blessed to give than to receive .”
Acts 20:35 AKJV
Cost can refer to money but cost can be calculated in time, effort, and personal sacrifice.
Perhaps there is someone that you know that has a need and it will cost you a few hours of your time to fill that need.
Perhaps you have an opportunity to strengthen the faith of someone struggling to make sense of life at this moment and it will cost you a heart of compassion.
Perhaps there is someone that deserves an apology from you and it will cost you a bit of humility to say, “I was wrong and I am sorry.”
Remember, today, out of your abundance you may be the giver and, tomorrow, out of your need you may be the receiver.
Give daily out of the abundance God has given you ……..
